Sometimes a quick win is needed to encourage weight loss. Here is a jump start program for quick, healthy, easy weight loss.
This diet was designed by nutritionists for heart patients to allow them to lose weight quickly while waiting for surgery.
The couple of times I have done it, over one week only, I have lost weight and felt a lot better. It's a great kick start to your new vision of yourself.
CARDIAC UNIT RECIPE FOR FAST WEIGHT LOSS
3 Tomatoes
2 large cans of crushed tomatoes
1-2 large cans of beef consumme plus 2 cups of water
1 packet of vegetable dry soup powder
1 bunch of spring onions
1 bunch of celery
2 cans of green French beans
2 Green peppers
1/2 kilogram of carrots
2 chicken stock cubes
1 OXO cube
Chop all vegetable into small pieces, combine all ingredients add salt and pepper and stir well. Boil rapidly for 10 minutes then simmer until vegies are tender. Add water if necessary or to make a thinner soup. This soup can be eaten anytime you are hungry. Eat as much as you want whenever you want. This soup will not add calories. The more you eat the more you will lose. Fill a thermos if you are going to be out during the day. Day 1 Eat any kind of fruit, except bananas. Rock melon and watermelon are lower in calories than most other fruits. Eat only soup (as much as you want) and fruit today. Day 2 All vegetables. Eat as much as you like of fresh vegies, raw or canned. Try to eat green leafy vegetables. Stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Eat vegies along with soup. At dinner reward yourself with a jacket potato and butter. DON’T EAT FRUIT TODAY. Day 3 Eat all the soup, fruit and vegetables you want today. Don’t have the jacket potato today. If you have eaten as above and not cheated, you should have lost 5 lbs (2 kilos) by today.
Day 4 Today, you need potassium and carbohydrates. Have bananas and skim milk. Eat at least 3 large bananas and as much milk as you can today. Eat as much soup as you want. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates as is the milk.Day 5 Today you may have 10-20 ounces (500grams) of beef or chicken if you prefer (no skin chicken) and as many as 6 tomatoes. Eat some soup at least once today. Day 6 Eat beef and vegetables to your heart’s content today. You may have 2-3 steaks (grilled) if you like with green leafy vegetables. Be sure to eat the soup at least once today, but no potato. Day 7 Have brown rice, vegetables and fruit juice. Be sure to eat well and eat as much soup as you can.
By the end of the seventh day, if you have not cheated, you should have lost 10-17 pounds (7-8 kilos). Inactive patients will lose less due to inactivity. If you lose more than 15 pounds, stay off the diet for 2 days before restarting. Diet Notes This seven day eating plan can be used as often as you like. If correctly followed it will clean your system and give you a feeling of well being as never before. After the process you will begin to feel lighter and you will have an abundance of energy. Continue the plan as long as you like. This diet is fast and fat burning and the secret is you will burn more calories than you take in. It will also flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of wellbeing. No alcohol on this diet. Because everyone’s digestive system is different this diet will affect everyone differently. After being on this diet for several days, if your bowel movements change, eat a cup of bran or fibre. The basic fat burning soup can be eaten any time you feel hungry. Eat as much as you wish, the more you eat the more you will lose, as it is a nutritional diet. No alcohol, bread, soft drinks of any kind and no fried food or oil. However, you can replace or add different vegetables to provide variety. Do not use vegetable high in starch or sugar, such as potatoes or corn. Drink plenty of water, 6-8 glasses a day along with tea, coffee, skim milk, unsweetened fruit juice or cranberry juice. The diet is from the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital and is used in their cardiac care unit for overweight patients to lose weight before they undergo surgery.
